Toddler Tuesday- Chocolate Box Lunch

In an attempt to cater to those of you who have very young children with type 1 diabetes, I have created a “Toddler Tuesday” series. Each Tuesday, I pick one of my toddler daughter’s meals from the week to share with you- the Toddler Tuesday  Meal. These featured meals are meant to give you inspiration of new things to make and try for those of you with younger kids. Plus, all featured meals include the carbohydrate breakdown of each food item, so that you can easily add/remove items to accommodate your child’s likes/dislikes.

Here’s this week’s Toddler Tuesday meal, assembled inside an empty box of chocolates (*idea from @katherinemaries):

MySuperSnack Blueberry Banana Acai (Soft) Granola Bites= 6 carbs
Annie’s Homegrown Organic Cheddar Snack Mix= 3.3 carbs
Colby Jack Cheese Slices= 0.3 carbs
Freeze-Dried Edamame= 0.8 carbs
Mandarin Oranges= 1.9 carbs
Red Bell Pepper= 0.5 carbs
Peas & Carrots= 1.1 carbs
Banana Slices= 2.5 carbs
Strawberries= 0.5 carbs
Blackberries= 0.6 carbs
Raspberries= 1.3 carbs
Blueberries= 0.9 carbs
Diced Ham= 1 carb
Pickles= 0.3 carbs

Meal Total= 21 carbohydrates
