Friday Featured Lunch 11.13.15

I pack my son a fresh school lunch every day. Each Friday, I pick one lunch from the week to share with you- the Friday Featured Lunch. These featured lunches are meant to give you inspiration of new things to make and try with your kids. Plus, all featured lunches include the carbohydrate breakdown of each food item, so that you can easily add/remove items to accommodate your child’s likes/dislikes.


Ham & Cheese Apple Wraps (thick cut ham slices (cut in half), thin slice of apple and a thin slice of cheddar cheese)= 5 carbs
Angie’s Boomchickapop​ Frosted Sugar Cookie Kettle Corn Popcorn= 7 carbs
Chobani Yogurt Tube (not pictured)= 7 carbs
Fresh Veggies (baby carrots & snap peas)= 4 carbs
Fresh Fruit (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, & pineapple)= 7 carbs

Lunch Total= 30 carbohydrates

Ham & Cheese Apple Wraps

Yield: 4 servings


  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese, thickly sliced, and cut in half into triangles
  • 2 slices deli turkey or ham, cut in half


  1. Arrange a piece of cheddar cheese on one apple wedge.
  2. Wrap the ham around the middle of the apple and cheese. Secure with a toothpick, if desired.

      Thank you so much for messaging me. Wow, that is a really fresh diagnosis. I’m so glad you found my page, although I’m sorry you had to.

      I’m sure you’re completely on overload right now, but please know things will be OK again. Everything in the early months seems very overwhelming and I remember many times, wondering if it would always be so hard. Just know that you’re not alone and even though it may not seem like it now, it really does get easier!
