Friday Featured Lunch 9.25.15

I pack my son a fresh school lunch every day. Each Friday, I pick one lunch from the week to share with you- the Friday Featured Lunch. These featured lunches are meant to give you inspiration of new things to make and try with your kids. Plus, all featured lunches include the carbohydrate breakdown of each food item, so that you can easily add/remove items to accommodate your child’s likes/dislikes.


 Here’s this week’s featured lunch packed in a Yumbox:

2 Simply Balanced Spinach & Garlic Chicken Sausages= 2 carbs
Fresh Fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, raspberries)= 10 carbs
Lifeway Organic ProBug= 10 carbs
Macadamia Nuts= 2 carbs
Hard-boiled Egg= 1 carb
Carrots= 3 carbs

Lunch Total= 28 carbohydrates

Chicken Sausage Lunch


  • 2 chicken sausages of choice


  1. Sauté the sausage in olive oil over medium heat until lightly browned. Cut into bite-sized pieces and assemble in lunch box.
